On his personal YouTube channel, psychotherapist and content creator Adrian Salama shared a live video where he criticized the graphologist Maryfer Centeno for her appearance on the “Today” program, where she claimed that changing writing habits can lead to weight loss.
Dr. Salama not only criticized the influencer for downplaying the issue of overweight, but also for making irresponsible statements about curing anxiety through handwriting exercises, which he described as “an insult to the Mexican intellect.”
Reasons for Adrian Salama’s Criticism of Maryfer Centeno
In the video shared on July 22nd, Salama reacted to Centeno’s appearance on the program, mentioning that they were friends. However, he expressed that they may not be friends anymore due to the content of the video, emphasizing the difference between friendship and irresponsible behavior.
Salama characterized Maryfer Centeno as a “violent character” and criticized her for spreading lies to a large audience by claiming that changing handwriting traits can prevent weight gain and that writing slowly and in purple can reduce anxiety.
“Why does this bother me? Where did you get this information? I have studied many books on anxiety and never encountered such claims before. This misinformation on national television negatively impacts the population.”
“This is intellectual violence. With a million Instagram followers, she influences people who might avoid seeking therapy. It’s a disrespect to the intellect of Mexicans.”
Although the graphologist did not respond to the criticism, Salama stated in a follow-up video that she is no longer his friend.

Despite Salama’s criticism, Maryfer Centeno has not publicly responded, and Salama himself confirmed in a subsequent video that their friendship has ended due to their differing beliefs on responsible communication.
