Adrian Newey, Red Bull F1 transfer “felt stagnation in McLaren”[F1-Gate.com]

Adrian Newey joined Red Bull Racing in 2006 for multiple reasons. The legendary F1 designer has spoken out about his fascination with the Milton Keynes racing team.

Since Adrian Newey started working for Red Bull Racing in February 2006, the team has enjoyed a lot of success. The team has won six constructors’ championships and seven drivers’ championships with F1 cars designed by aerodynamic specialists.

Sebastian Vettel won the title four times in a row with RB6, RB7, RB8 and RB9. Max Verstappen won the throne last year with RB16B and this year with RB18.

Prior to joining Red Bull Racing, Adrian Newey proved to be a key success factor for Williams and McLaren.

Nevertheless, as Adrian Newey emphasized in an interview with Christian Horner on Red Bull TV, a completely different goal was at the forefront at first.

“Winning was a distant dream. Just trying to win a race was really intriguing to me.”

But that wasn’t the only reason Adrian Newey joined Red Bull Racing.

“I was a little nervous,” says Adrian Newey.

“I’ve been fortunate to have worked for two great teams and won multiple races and championships.
