ADNOC launched an innovative electronic platform for procurement to contribute to raising the efficiency of its pioneering program to enhance local added value and support its efforts to reduce the emissions of its operations and ensure that its business keeps pace with the future.

Al Hashemi pointed out that the agreements signed by ADNOC this year during the “Make in the UAE” forum contributed to supporting growth, development and economic diversification in the UAE. He explained that local manufacturing of basic industrial products contributes to enhancing the flexibility of the supply chain for ADNOC’s business and activities and supports its ability to respond more quickly to market dynamics as it seeks to reduce the intensity of carbon emissions from its operations by 25% by 2030, and increase its investments in low-carbon energy solutions.

Regarding how local manufacturing contributes to achieving ADNOC’s goal of climate neutrality by 2045; Dr. Saleh Al Hashemi said: Investing in the local industry will enable us to significantly reduce carbon emissions from our purchasing chain, while importing international products requires significant energy consumption through transportation and logistics, which leads to the generation of significant carbon dioxide emissions. He explained that ADNOC has developed an illustrated guide that includes the products that will be supplied locally. He said: We at ADNOC give priority to investing in sustainable solutions and technologies and encourage local suppliers to use sustainable materials, enhance energy efficiency in production processes and meet environmental compliance standards.

He added: Investing in renewable energy and hydrogen is one of ADNOC’s most important priorities, which is why we have identified a set of essential renewable energy resource requirements, including photovoltaic solar panels and batteries, along with electrolysis equipment and equipment for purifying, compressing and storing hydrogen, in addition to methane gas detection devices.
