The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said that no protesters rejecting the Pilkada Bill in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building were arrested on Thursday (22/8).
“No one was secured,” said Ade Ary, quoted by Antara, Thursday (22/8).
He has not received information regarding the statement by the Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P Faction, Adian Napitupulu, who stated that there were dozens of demonstrators in front of the Indonesian House of Representatives/MPR Building who were arrested by the police.
“We confirm again, we have not received such information. So far the situation is still under control,” he said.
Ade Ary claimed that today’s action situation was safe and under control, and all potential riots could be overcome.
“The dynamics of the security process are running smoothly. Potential disturbances to order and security can be handled well by Polda Metro Jaya together with stakeholders who support the implementation of this security,” he said.

Furthermore, his party will also evaluate the security of the action, especially related to damage to public facilities.
“Yes, evaluation of the implementation of security will continue to be carried out internally so that the implementation is carried out more optimally,” he said.
Adian Napitupulu met with demonstrators who were caught in the action to reject the Pilkada Bill which took place at the Indonesian House of Representatives Building, Jakarta, Thursday (22/8).
Adian greets demonstrators who were detained at the police post of the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta. To the demonstrators, Adian promised to advocate for them.
“There are students, some from LBH. Earlier I also met them in the car (at the left gate of the DPR). They were going to be taken to Polda Metro Jaya. Some were going to be taken to the Polres,” said Adian. (P-5)
