ADFP President Calls for Arrest of FPF Head and Secretary Amidst Liga1 Betsson Controversy

The Professional Football Sports Association (ADFP), represented by its president Óscar Romero, requested before the Public Ministry the arrest of the head of the FPF, Agustín Lozano Saavedra, and the general secretary of the FPF, Sabrina Martin Zamalloa.

In the document presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Romero Aquino, as a complainant in the investigation that is being followed once morest Lozano and members of his board of directors, for the alleged commission of the crime of criminal organization and other charges, requested the Prosecutor’s Office to arrest Lozano and Martin for the repeated actions they have been carrying out once morest some of the clubs in the Liga1 Betsson.

“We inform your prosecutor’s office of the events that occurred on the last weekend between Friday, June 23 and Sunday, June 25, 2023; and we request the arrest of the investigated Agustín Lozano Saavedra and the investigated lawyer Sabrina Martin Zamalloa for the repeated coercive actions that they have been carrying out once morest some First Division soccer clubs,” the document reads.

Let us remember that last Friday, June 23, through a resolution, the Superior Court of Justice of Lima reported that it annulled the precautionary measure that the FPF had obtained that suspended the current contracts for the television rights of the teams of the Liga1 Betsson.
