2023-09-24 13:28:53

Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chavez will visit Panama’s Darien Gap in early October to address the migrant crisis, the two countries said Saturday.

Panama’s Public Security Minister Juan Pino and his Costa Rican counterpart, Mario Zamora, visited communities in the dangerous forest region where thousands of migrants pass through on their way to the United States on Saturday.

About 390,000 people crossed the Darien Gap from Colombia to Panama from January to September.

Volodymyr Zelensky said that during his visit to America he met leading American entrepreneurs and financiers

Panama’s security ministry said most of them were Venezuelans, but also from Ecuador, Haiti and other countries.
