Additive manufacturing is one of the main themes at the upcoming TechniShow. The fair with the theme of the Manufacturing Industry of Tomorrow is the right platform to present AM, says fair manager Ricardo Vivas. After all, the exhibitors show the entire workflow for 3D printing. After all, post-processing is almost always necessary for 3D printed parts. These machines are presented elsewhere at the TechniShow.
TechniShow 2024 is all regarding innovative solutions and collaborations. With the theme The Manufacturing Industry of Tomorrow, hundreds of exhibitors will show their innovations, new techniques and solutions, including Additive Manufacturing.

3D printing becomes part of the manufacturing process
Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is even one of the main themes. On the Additive Manufacturing theme square, visitors can see how the step from 3D printing to Additive Manufacturing is made, especially in metal printing. Ricardo Vivas, trade fair manager TechniShow: “3D printing is increasingly becoming part of the entire manufacturing process. On the theme square, exhibitors will show various innovations in this area. However, AM parts almost always require post-processing. This is an essential part of the AM process. Visitors will find the machines and technology for this elsewhere at TechniShow.”
Innovations in 3D printing
There will be a number of innovations on display at TechniShow this year when it comes to 3D printing, both on the theme square and elsewhere at the fair. Laagland and One Click Metal show the 3D metal printer, which is tailored to SME manufacturing companies in terms of ease of use and investment. Renishaw presents the impact of Tempus software for the RenAM 500 laser powder bed AM machine. This halves the printing time, exactly what is needed to move to series production with AM. Laagland and Renishaw are on the Additive Manufacturing Theme Square. Gibas Numeriek presents the AM technology of Nikon SLM Solutions there. Among other things, a large workpiece printed on the top model, the NXG
Printing plastics
Elsewhere at TechniShow, Makerpoint SLS will demonstrate printing with the Formlabs Fuse 1, allowing machine builders to print functional parts and keep their supply chain short. Visitors to Makerpoint are also introduced to the miniFactory FDM printer for Ultem, PEKK, PEEK and other plastics. Multi 3D print shows, among other things, Intamsys 3D printers for printing high-quality plastic components in materials such as PEEK and PEKK. Leering Hengelo demonstrates the solutions for post-processing, such as depowdering and glazing with the desktop system of AMT Post processing.
Innovations from talented student teams
Within the trade fair, the focus is further on recruiting and retaining talent. Various student teams show their innovations. For example, students from TU Delft from the Forze Hydrogen Racing Team demonstrate a hydrogen racing car. They show what is possible with hydrogen in motorsport and transport, among others. Another student team from TU Delft, Project MARCH, presents an exoskeleton that allows people with spinal cord injury to stand and walk once more. The latest version of the students is brain-driven: This year Technishow also offers the Start and Scale up square with companies such as Damen-IT (Digital Workmate) and Techpilier.
Guided tours
Ricardo Vivas: “In addition to Additive Manufacturing, we also offer the latest technologies and innovations on the exhibition floor within the fields of Sheet Metal Working, Automation and Machining. Led by experts within the fields, there are themed tours of the exhibition floor on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the Guided Tours.”
