The industry is taking up additive manufacturing less quickly than a number of major players initially expected, says Olivier Diegerick, responsible for the AM software portfolio at Siemens. It’s complex. And for critical applications, validation processes take a long time.
Yet quite a lot is happening in the Benelux in the AM field. Hittech Group has chosen AM as a means to net zero and will set up a joint venture with partner 3T AM. In the meantime, Belgian researchers are developing solutions to make WAAM deployable more quickly. However, this edition is also regarding the rat race of smaller series and shorter lead times. And why the industry might use a dose of feminine energy. That would significantly improve returns.
This time including:
For Hittech Group is additive manufacturing a means of achieving this in the long term net zero reach. After twelve years, the supplier has AM components in volume production and is now scaling up further by entering into a joint venture with 3T AM.
Met AM I Navigator wil Siemens boost the additive manufacturing industry and support manufacturing companies in the implementation of AM technology. Olivier Diegerick regarding why AM does not break through and what is needed for that.
Researchers from KU Leuven and Thomas Moore University of Applied Sciences investigate how they WAAM can improve. Companies must be able to draw from a database with parameters for 3D printing and mechanical post-processing.
