Additional increase in fuel prices

The General Directorate of Oil issued a new table of fuel prices, and the prices became as follows:

95 octane gasoline: 480,000 pounds
Gasoline 98 octane: 491 thousand pounds
Diesel Oil: 552 thousand pounds
Gas: 329 thousand pounds.

It is reported that a member of the Syndicate of Station Owners, George Brax, indicated in a previous interview that “the queues will be reduced in front of the stations with the receipt of fuel, and the Bank of Lebanon must secure the dollar, and if it cannot, then the price schedule will be canceled and edited according to the exchange rate.”

In turn, Oscar Yammine, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coral and Liquigas, indicated that “the quantities of fuel that the markets need are available.

Consequently, the crisis temporarily eased, pending the adoption of a sustainable pricing mechanism that preserves the rights of all.

The oil sector had held several meetings with the Minister of Energy in the past few days, and they agreed on the gasoline pricing mechanism, because the Central Bank was late in converting pounds to dollars through the “exchange” platform.
