Dame Adama Banaro made Fatoumata Cissé dream regarding the possibility of helping her integrate the Guinean civil service. Passing herself off as a “divisional secretary” at the Ministry of Health, she managed to extract from the hands of her “prey” the sum of 15 million Guinean francs. The project having not succeeded, Adama Banaro found herself at the bar of the Dixinn court where her trial for fraud opened yesterday, Thursday August 11, 2022. She risks six months of imprisonment, learned on the spot Guineematin .com through one of its reporters.
Called to the bar, the complainant, a computer scientist by training, explained that she had met the defendant during a trip in 2020 to Pamelap, in the prefecture of Forécariah. During their conversation, Fatoumata Cissé says she informed Adama Banaro that she had so far not landed her first job. This is how the defendant promised to help him integrate the public service. Once in Conakry, Banaro claimed an amount of 15 million Guinean francs for the purposes of the cause.
“She asked us for 15 million Guinean francs. She came to find me in the Kouléwondi district, in Kaloum, with my husband. My husband asked her 3 times the question of whether she is able to help me integrate the public service. She always answered in the affirmative. This is how the three of us got into my husband’s vehicle. We went to the Ministry of Health. Arrived at the reception, she called someone, supposedly he is the one who will settle the matter. But the latter says he is not at the department. On the phone, he told me to give the money to Adama Banaro. I too gave him the money. Since she received this amount, there has been no favorable follow-up. I asked for my money in vain. I didn’t get a job, I didn’t get my money back. That’s why I filed a complaint once morest her, ”explained the complainant.
Called in turn to the bar, Adama Banaro did not deny the facts for which she is judged. She just asked to be released so she might find the amount and reimburse the plaintiff. “Yes, she gave me the money. But, I used the amount for other purposes. I plan to pay his money by December 2022. I am in a tontine team. If my turn comes, I will refund his money, ”she argued.
In his submissions, the prosecutor asked the court to retain Adama Banaro in the links of the prevention. For the repression, Amara Camara will request his sentence to six months of imprisonment.
The court has put the case under advisement and will render its decision on August 17, 2022. Adama Banaro returns to the central house of Coronthie while waiting to be located on his fate.
