The bankruptcy reports are currently piling up. Now another retailer is bankrupt. But customers have hope.

Once once more a trader is insolvent. The shock is great. And that despite the fact that insolvency reports are now the order of the day. So e.g. For example, it was only recently announced that a traditional beer brewery was on the verge of collapse.

Also this time it hits a traditional company. This time a grocer has filed for bankruptcy.

However, there is still a little hope

Retailer must file for bankruptcy

The renowned company Leysieffer is in crisis and is insolvent. Leysieffer is currently being looked following by the insolvency administrator Stefan Meyer. However, he still sees hope.

The brand can possibly be retained because the logistics service provider Zeitfracht has taken over Leysieffer, as reported by the Lebensmittelzeitung. Zeitfracht also took on all of the almost 180 employees at the Sylt, Hamburg and Bremen locations.

However, there are no further details. The purchase price is also not known.

Apparently, Zeitfracht would like to keep the brand in principle. This is a concern of the logistics service provider.

“Leysieffer has earned a very good name for itself over decades with a skilful selection of products, loving craftsmanship and excellent and customer-oriented service.” This is how Maren Wolters, a board member at Zeitfracht, says.

The two companies also have one thing in common: they can look back on a long tradition.

Zeitfracht saves Leysieffer from complete bankruptcy

With the takeover, Zeitfracht saves the retailer. But it’s not the first trouble at the company, which is known for high-quality chocolate and confectionery. The company was already insolvent in the spring of 2020 and had already filed for insolvency at that time.

After that, Leysieffer, which also produces fruit spreads and operates a total of twelve shops, started insolvency proceedings on its own responsibility. Unfortunately unsuccessful. Because of the restrictions imposed by Corona, the initial conditions were too bad, according to the official justification.

The Zeitfracht Group is now giving Leysieffer another chance. Zeitfracht is a family company in the field of logistics and trade, which is already managed by the third generation. More than 6,300 people are employed here.

Consumers are happy. There is at least the hope that they will not have to go without Leysieffer’s delicious products in the future either.
