The Last of Us was a huge success on HBO, becoming another name on the channel’s list of great series. Achieving impressive numbers, both on the closed channel and on HBO Max, the famous streaming service, the adaptation also had an excellent reception.
The series considered by many as the best video game adaptation has achieved the necessary success to guarantee renewal, with the second season having already been officially confirmed by HBO. Now, following the shocking event of the last episode, fans are eagerly awaiting season two.
Bella Ramsey talks regarding the launch of the new season
Although the second season of The Last of Us is already confirmed, fans still do not have other official production information, which includes the start of filming and the premiere date.
In an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, actress Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the HBO adaptation, spoke a little regarding the second season, giving fans a release date. Ramsey also hinted at the timeframe when filming for the second year is expected to begin.
It will still take a while. I think we’ll probably start filming around the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Therefore, the premiere should take place in late 2024 or early 2025
Season 2 will be different from the game
While fans are already beginning to theorize regarding the second season of the adaptation, questioning how faithful the production will be to the second game, Craig Mazin, showrunner of the series, revealed that the second year will have differences from the title developed by Naughty Dog.
