MEXICO CITY, July 24 (EL UNIVERSAL).- Renata del Castillo, known for her participation in productions like “Como dice el dicho,” remains steadfast in her fight against cancer diagnosed in 2020. Currently, the actress is seeking financial help from her followers to change her treatment.
A few weeks ago, the artist announced on social media that she could no longer continue with chemotherapy sessions due to the complications they were causing her. “I’m going to share some news that I hadn’t revealed: I can’t do chemotherapy anymore. I talked to my oncologist due to the bleeding that chemotherapy is causing me. This, obviously, leads to an advancement of the cancer, but I have a lot of faith and I will continue the fight,” Renata commented.
Despite the doctors informing her that her condition is terminal, Renata holds onto the hope that a new medical regimen will give her an opportunity. On July 22, she revealed that she was contacted by someone with a project to save lives and became a candidate for an alternative treatment, primarily motivated by her son Mateo. “This treatment drives me to keep fighting with every ounce of my being, for myself and for my son Mateo, whom I love deeply. He only has me, and I only have him. I want to see him grow up and give him all my support,” she added.
Renata asked for her followers’ support to finance the alternative treatment and shared the methods to contribute. “This time I want to beg you to help me raise money for my treatment. I need to collect 190 thousand pesos to cover its duration. Please, help me,” she requested.
In addition, she emphasized that her situation is critical: “With what they did to me before, they left my body in very bad shape from the previous treatments! Please help me!” she expressed.
This Wednesday, Renata posted a video in which she is seen lying on a bed. She took the opportunity to thank the expressions of affection she has received and, with optimism, announced that next week she will undergo a PET scan, a non-invasive diagnostic technique that shows the activity and metabolism of the body’s organs. “We’ll see how far the cancer has progressed. I’m a little scared, but we’re going to go for it,” concluded del Castillo.
