Actress Maryam Nafis, who got married almost two years ago, for the first time not only revealed the details of her marriage but also disclosed regarding her dowry.
The actress tied the knot with director Aman Ahmed in March 2022 and has now spoken openly regarding her marriage for the first time.
The actress told Fuchsia Magazine that only 90 people attended her main wedding ceremony and she didn’t even invite some of her relatives.
According to the actress, they wanted their wedding to be simple, so do not have too many celebrations.
Maryam Nafis said that they were married in Faisal Masjid and she cried profusely while signing the marriage certificate, which upset everyone.
The actress said that she hosted a dinner for some people at a luxury hotel in Islamabad, following which she went to Swat along with the baratis, where her other wedding functions took place and returned two days later.
Maryam Nafis said that her husband wanted to get married in the European country of Greece but then he chose Swat.
The actress revealed that she took Rs 2200 as dowry.
Maryam Nafees Ka said that she did not want to take dowry while her husband allowed her to ask for whatever she wanted, but then she took only 2200 rupees according to Sharia.
She said that she read her marriage certificate, in which she was given the right to divorce, and she got upset following reading it, which some people thought might be that she was being forced into marriage.
