Chennai: Actor Vijay is reportedly planning to take a break from films. Tamil film media reported earlier that the actor is planning to stay away from films, with reports suggesting that Vijay will take a break from films for two to three years following Venkat Prabhu’s Urukunnu Dalapati 68 (tentative title). Now comes the news that confirms that report. According to reports, the Kollywood superstar has decided to take a break from films in view of the Tamil Nadu elections to be held in 2026.

There were reports that Vijay would form his political party ahead of the 2021 assembly elections. The star’s fan club worked for this. But Vijay himself had rejected them. Also, Vijay fans contested a few seats in the Tamil Nadu Panchayat elections. But the Kollywood actor had informed that he has no relationship with them. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Leo is currently being lined up for Vijay. The first look and the first song of the film, which will hit the theaters as a Pooja release, were released on the occasion of the star’s birthday. After the film Master, Vijay and Lokesh Kanakaraj reunite for the film Leo. Earlier, the director had also informed that Leo is a part of Lokesh’s cinematic universe. Most of the film was shot in Jammu and Kashmir. The film is produced by S Lalith Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studios.
After Leo, Vijay will play the lead role in Venkat Prabhu’s film. This is the first time that Vijay is joining hands with the director of Mankatha. The film is produced by AGS Entertainments. Dalapati 68’s music is directed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. This is also the second film with Vijay Yuvan Shankar Raja following the 2003 release New Geethai. The film may hit theaters in 2024. Vijay is planning to take a break from films following this film.
