In January they married and posted details of the happy wedding, as well as their honeymoon trip; the couple wanted to have children, however Heslin suffered a heart attack following being hospitalized for a week.

“On July 2nd, my husband, best friend and soulmate passed away from an unexpected cardiac event following a long battle in the hospital. Michael was young, in perfect health, and the doctors have no explanation for what happened,” reads the extensive message from Scotty, the actor’s husband.

According to Scotty Dynamo, a cancer survivor, her husband, young actor Michael was a brilliant person, a sweet, caring, and the most loving man in the world, “a real-life guardian angel.”

Scotty said goodbye to her husband Michael with a heartbreaking message in which she recounted their best moments together and what he meant in her life:

“Michael, meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. You are my world. You are everything to me. When I felt you take your last breath, my heart broke into a million pieces. If I had the power to switch places with you, I would do it in an instant. But I’ll take it day by day like you always told me, and I’ll live each day in your honor,” it reads.

The couple was planning the first steps they would take to start a family a few days ago, and although that will no longer be possible, Scotty promised that if he ever becomes a father, he will name his son Michael.
