Kozhikode: The funeral of Malayalam’s beloved actor Mamukoya took place. Mamukoya is laid to rest at the Kannamparam Graveyard in Kozhikode. The funeral was held with full official honours. There was public viewing at the house till nine o’clock. Then, the dead body was taken to Kannamparam after prayers at Arakinar Mujahid Mosque. Even late at night, many people came to the house to pay their last respects.

On the night of 24th, Mamukoya, who had arrived at Malappuram Kalikav Poongode to inaugurate the sevens football tournament, fell ill and was later admitted to a private hospital in Vantur. From there he was shifted to Kozhikode hospital. He was being treated in the intensive care unit since Monday. Earlier he had also sought treatment for cancer. He died yesterday at 1:05 while undergoing treatment there. Apart from the heart attack, he suffered a brain haemorrhage which worsened his condition and led to his death.
