Actor Chance Perdomo dies in motorcycle crash at age 27

Actor Chance Perdomo, who rose to fame as the star of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Gen V,” died in a motorcycle crash. He was 27 years old.

“On behalf of the family and their representatives, it is with deep sadness that we share the news of the untimely death of Chance Perdomo in a motorcycle crash,” a publicist said in a statement released Saturday followingnoon.

The statement indicates that no one else was involved in the crash. At this time, no details have been given regarding the death, such as the time or place where it occurred.

Perdomo recently played Andre Anderson in the first season of “Gen V”, the series derived from the successful “The Boys”, on Amazon Prime, set in a superhero university. Perdomo played a student at Godolkin University and his power was the manipulation of metals.

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, creators of “Gen V,” stated that the show’s family was “devastated by the sudden death.”

“We cannot fully understand this. “To those of us who knew and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented actor and, most of all, a very kind and charming person,” said the producers of “Gen V,” he said in a statement. “Even writing regarding him in the past tense makes no sense.”

The statement does not make clear how Perdomo’s death will affect production of the show, which also stars Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Shelley Conn.

One of Perdomo’s most famous roles was that of Ambrose Spellman, one of the main characters of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the Netflix show placed the Archie Comics characters in a city above the titular location of Aguirre-Sacasa’s “Riverdale” and employed a lewd and creepy tone.

Perdomo’s character was Sabrina Spellman’s cousin and a powerful pansexual witch specializing in necromancy who is initially under house arrest. He used to serve as a sort of voice of reason on the show, which ended in 2020.

Perdomo, of black and Latino origin, was born in Los Angeles and raised in England. He also starred in several of the “After” films and will appear alongside Seann William Scott and Rob Riggle in the upcoming “Bad Man.”
