Screenwriter and film director Glenn Gordon Caron spoke regarding the health of his friend, actor Bruce Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia following suffering from a speech condition known as aphasia.

During an interview offered to the American media New York Postthe creator of Moonlighting claimed that the actor’s ability to communicate has drastically decreased amid his fight once morest the disease.

According to the screenwriter, since Willis was diagnosed he has tried to visit him almost every month. “I have tried very hard to stay in his life”said.

“I’m not always that good, but I try and I talk to him and his wife (Emma Heming Willis) and I have a casual relationship with his three older children”Caron added.

On the other hand, the director noted that the “language skills are no longer available” for Bruce, but that he is still him.

According to Caron’s statements to the American press, it is as if the actor was “watching life through a screen door”.

“When you’re with him you know it’s Bruce and you’re grateful he’s there (…) but the joy of life is gone”he pointed.

It is worth mentioning that Bruce Willis, 68, announced his retirement from acting following being diagnosed with aphasia, a disease that affects language skills. However, the health of the actor, born in Germany, worsened and the diagnosis was “frontotemporal dementia.”

Since Willis’ family learned of the actor’s diagnosis, they have rallied to support him while he suffers from the disorder.

In mid-2023, his wife Emma published some “stories” on her Instagram account where she updated her husband’s health status.

He said, The situation with her husband is increasingly difficult: “When you live in the world of dementia, you know that the options are limited (…) It is a cruel disease and there are no treatments.”
