The 100th edition of the Brussels Auto Show opened on Friday for professionals and the media, with the participation of some newcomers, among others, Chinese car manufacturers including BYD, BAIC, DFSK and Seres.

Among them, many electric vehicles have attracted a lot of attention, helping China and Europe build a green dream.

Under the influence of the European Union’s green transformation policy and the tense situation on energy supply, sales of electric vehicles in Europe have increased in recent years. Thanks to low price and high quality, Chinese electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular among European consumers.

Build Your Dreams (BYD) Auto, which participated in the Brussels Auto Show for the first time this year, presented three models, focusing on the 3.0 electronic platform, the blade battery and other scientific achievements and technologies.

For Mike Belinfante, spokesperson for BYD Europe, BYD has carefully prepared its entry into the Belgian market. “With our design, technology, services and dealer partners, BYD will try to stand out and provide the best possible experience for European consumers,” he said.

Beijing Automobile’s (BAIC) new X55 was also officially unveiled at this show and will be officially launched in Europe in February. Belgian automobile importer OneAutomotive has introduced several models from BAIC Motor and DFSK to the Belgian and Luxembourg markets over the past two years.

An employee of OneAutomotive said, “Over the past two years, the import volume of these two car brands has increased steadily. Chinese cars are not only of good quality, but also designed to meet the needs of European consumers.” .

After two years without a physical show due to the pandemic, the 100th edition of the Brussels Auto Show will open its doors to the public from January 14 to 22, 2023. In addition to Chinese producers, the show will bring together more than 50 automotive brands.

The Febiac (Belgian and Luxembourg Automobile and Cycle Federation), in charge of organizing this event, has confirmed the presence of no less than 15 world or European premieres, 48 Belgian premieres and 14 concept cars or prototypes during this edition of the show.
