In a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), it was said that the security forces acted on the basis of a secret information about the presence of terrorists in Sambaza area of Zhob district on the intervening night of October 8 and 9, 2023.
The statement said that during the operation, the terrorists were surrounded and after a fierce exchange of fire, 5 terrorists were killed.
The ISPR said that Pakistan Army Major Syed Ali Raza Shah, 31, who hailed from Sargodha district and Havaldar Nisar Ahmad, 38, from Wahari district of Punjab, who led the operation in the exchange of fire, showed bravery. Confronted and martyred.
The statement said that the armed forces of Pakistan are proud of their brave men and pay tribute to their sacrifices for the motherland, which will further strengthen our resolve to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from our country.
ISPR said that action is being taken in the adjoining areas to eliminate any terrorist presence.
It should be noted that terrorist activities have increased especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan after the banned TTP ended the ceasefire with the government in November last year.
Earlier on September 29, the security forces foiled the infiltration attempt of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists from Afghanistan in Zhob area of Balochistan and killed 3 terrorists while in the exchange of fire Pakistan Army 4 young men were martyred.
On September 15, there was an exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists in Tangi near Quetta in Balochistan where 3 terrorists were killed and one soldier of Pakistan Army was martyred.
It should be remembered that on July 12, 9 soldiers were martyred in the attack of terrorists in the garrison located in Zhob and 5 terrorists were killed in retaliation.
Earlier this month, data compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies showed that the number of terrorist attacks in August was the highest on a monthly basis in a nine-month period.
The report said 99 attacks were carried out across the country in August, the highest number for any month since November 2014.
