Acting US Ambassador “US-Russia, there is a plan to manage nuclear risk at the intelligence agency level”

The United States and Russia have plans to manage the nuclear crisis at the intelligence level, the acting US ambassador to Russia said.

Acting Ambassador Elizabeth Roode told Russia’s state-run ‘Ria’ news agency, “The United States has channels to manage crises with the Russian Federation, especially nuclear crises.” That was the purpose,” Archyde.com reported today (28th).

Earlier, the White House said CIA Director William Burns had met with Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Narishkin in the Turkish capital, Ankara, to warn him of the consequences of Russia’s use of nuclear weapons.

In this regard, Acting Ambassador Ruud said, “Director Burns did not negotiate anything, nor did he discuss a plan to end the war in Ukraine.”

He then said that if additional conversations are needed in that channel, it can be done, and that there is no schedule for additional conversations yet.

Meanwhile, the United States and Russia will resume the New START Bilateral Consultative Committee (BCC) in Cairo, Egypt from the 29th to the 6th of December.
