ACTOR and singer Nugie admitted that he experienced a dilemma in playing the character Alim Suganda in the film God, Allow Me to Sin.
“I have never experienced a dilemma in reading my character,” said Nugie at a press conference for the launch of the official trailer and poster for God, Allow Me to Sin, Tuesday (30/4).
The owner of the real name Agustinus Gusti Nugroho felt this dilemma because he had to play an official with a depraved character.
He was also challenged by director Hanung Bramantyo to show and expose hypocrisy in order to explore this figure.

He also admitted that he never thought he would play this character during his career in the film industry.
“Mr Hanung entrusted me with a character that I never thought I would play and it turns out this is one of the characters that many people rejected, how come I want it,” said Nugie, laughing.
He is aware that there will be a lot of criticism directed at him for playing a figure that might be controversial. However, Nugie believes this film will carry a positive message from the story ideas raised in this religious drama genre film.
