Acer wants to prove that big doesn’t mean bulky with its latest creator-friendly laptop. The Acer Swift Edge may come with a 16-inch display, but it tips the scales at 1.17kg and just 13mm thin, which shouldn’t be a problem for hybrid workers to carry between home and office.
A chassis constructed from a magnesium-aluminum alloy should be tough enough to survive life on the go, and the battery should handle over seven hours, so you’ll be able to work in a coffee shop without having to search. A power socket.
This thin and light AMD-powered contraption features a 4K OLED panel that promises 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, near-instantaneous response times and 500 nits peak brightness, so it should do video services justice. streaming as well as spreadsheets. Given that productivity is top of mind, it’s no surprise that Acer has provided plenty of ports on the sides. Two USB 3.2 Type-C ports also handle fast charging, in addition to HDMI 2.1, two USB Type-A ports, and a 3.5mm headphone port. There’s also Wi-Fi 6E for super-fast networking.
The Acer Swift Edge will hit stores in October. European and US customers can expect to pay €1499/$1499 respectively.
