Acer launches three 14-inch Swift series laptops in Taiwan

Acer Swift 5

Acer launched three new Swift series of thin and light notebooks in Taiwan today, all of which are 14 inches in size, but although they are all “14 inches” in size, there are actually subtle differences between the three.

Pictured above is the “top-of-the-line” Swift 5, which focuses on fashion and business. Compared with the previous generation, the Swift 5 has been upgraded to a 12th-generation Core i7 processor, and the screen has also been replaced by a 16:10 touch panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600, which has a larger display space. In terms of design, the new Swift 5 maintains the consistent dark color scheme and metal frame of the series, and is available in misty green and smoky blue. Other specs include 16GB LPDDR5 memory, 512GB PCIe SSD, and 14 hours of battery life. The new Swift 5 is priced at NT$49,900.

Next is the Swift X with built-in discrete graphics. Thanks to its aluminum casing, even with an RTX 3050 discrete graphics chip and a 12th-generation Core i processor, fans, air-intake keyboards, and dual heat pipes help keep it “cool”. The weight is still controlled to 1.4kg. The Swift X also uses a 16:10 panel, but the resolution is a relatively rare 2,240 x 1,400. Other specifications include 16GB LPDDR5 memory and 512GB PCIe SSD. The Swift X is scheduled to go on sale in May, priced at NT$46,900.

Finally, there is the more “affordable” Swift 3. Although it is also 14 inches, this one maintains the more common 16:9 ratio and has a resolution of 1440p. It is equipped with a 12th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB LPDDR4X memory and a 512GB SSD, and weighs 1.25 kg. The Swift 3 is available in pure silver, powder mist gold and tannin blue, priced at NT$35,900.
