The Aceh Culture and Tourism Agency (Disbudpar) is ready to enliven the 21st National Sports Week (PON) in the Aceh-North Sumatra (Sumut) Region by organizing 21 spectacular events packaged in the 2024 Aceh Festival.
“Aceh Festival 2024 is designed to provide an unforgettable experience for PON participants and tourists who attend this national sporting event,” said Head of Aceh Culture and Tourism Office Almuniza Kamal as reported by Antara, Friday (30/8).
Almuniza further explained that the 2024 Aceh Festival is an initiative of the Aceh Government in collaboration with various local agencies and related ministries, presenting a cultural festival, MSME exhibition, traditional culinary, art performances, and special tour packages to explore iconic destinations in Aceh.
“PON in Aceh is a golden opportunity to revive the local tourism and MSME industry. Therefore, we have prepared 21 cultural, tourism, and creative economy events in the 2024 Aceh Festival,” explained Almuniza.
This event will be held before and during the XXI PON, with locations spread across 8 districts/cities, most of which will also be the main venues for the XXI Aceh-North Sumatra PON on 8-20 September.
Disbudpar Aceh together with related parties continue to perfect preparations to ensure that every event runs successfully. “With this series of events, we hope that PON participants and tourists will increasingly know and love Aceh, both in terms of sports, culture, and natural wealth,” explained Almuniza, who also serves as Deputy Chairperson of Promotion and Marketing for PON XXI Aceh Region.
