Accused Shah Nawaz Ameer sentenced to death

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad sentenced Shah Nawaz Ameer to death and fined Rs 10 lakh for the murder of Canadian citizen Sarah Inam, who was killed by her husband, while acquitting the accused Samina Shah of the case.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the District and Sessions Court Islamabad delivered the verdict, which was reserved by the court on December 9.

Sara Inam’s father Inam-ul-Rahim, accused Shah Nawaz Amir, father of the accused Ayaz Amir and mother co-accused Samina Shah also appeared in the court.

It should be noted that on December 5, the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad indicted the main accused Shahnawaz and his mother in the Sara Inam murder case.

Later, on December 9, the Sara Inam murder case was heard in the court of Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana, Prosecutor Rana Hasan Abbas, plaintiff lawyer Rao Abdul Rahim and accused lawyer Nisar Asghar appeared in the court.

The main accused Shahnawaz Ameer, his mother and co-accused Samina Shah, Inam-ur-Rahim, father of deceased Sara and Ayaz Ameer, father of the accused, were also present in the court room.

Accused Samina Shah’s lawyer, Nisar Asghar, while starting the final arguments, said that accused Samina Shah is accused that she was present at the crime scene and she assisted the accused. But in the statement of 342, there is no evidence of the assistance of accused Samina Shah.

He further said that the evidence related to the murder of Sara Inam does not prove the assistance of Samina Shah, none of the evidence collected by the police goes against Samina Shah, all the photographs that have come out as evidence. , Samina Shah is not present in them.

Lawyer Nisar Asghar, while completing the final arguments, requested to acquit Samina Shah from the case.

Later, in Sara Inam’s murder case, Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas started the final arguments. He said that the lawyer Safai said that Sara Inam had only one injury, but in reality, she had several injuries. According to the medical report, Sara died due to torture. Inam died.

Prosecutor Rana Ahsan had said that Shahnawaz Amir’s DNA matched with Sara Inam, which means that they were living together, no third person’s DNA matched, which means that no one else can be suspected of murder.

The plaintiff lawyer Rao Abdul Rahim said that after killing the accused made a picture of the victim, the witnesses explained the details of the 161 statements before the court, which should be done, even if the witnesses lie, the documents never lie, the post-mortem report. Saying that Sara was killed with a dumbbell and the photo taken by the accused’s mobile phone is not false.

At the same time, the plaintiff lawyer Rao Abdul Rahim requested for severe punishment for the accused.

Later, after hearing the arguments of the parties, the court had reserved the verdict in the Sara Inam murder case, which will be pronounced by Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana today.

It should be noted that on September 23, 2022, the Islamabad police arrested the son of Ayaz Amir for allegedly killing his Pakistani-born Canadian citizen wife, after which a well-known journalist was also arrested in this case a day later. .

The police had said that on the night of September 22, the couple had an argument over a dispute, later on Friday morning, the two had another argument during which the accused assaulted the woman and then hit her on the head with a dumbbell.

During investigation, the accused Shahnawaz told the police that he killed his wife with a dumbbell and hid her body in the bathtub of the bathroom.

The police recovered the body on its information, the FIR stated that injuries were found on the deceased’s head.

The FIR said the police team had also recovered a murder weapon from the house which was hidden under a bed.
