Radio host Mario Lirette will go to prison.

The 71-year-old man showed up at the Longueuil courthouse this morning, suitcase in hand.
Before entering the courtroom, Mr. Lirette said he was “zen” about his fate.
He wanted to send a message to his grandchildren: “Grandpa will not be here for Christmas.”
He pleaded guilty to 4 counts of fraud against financial institutions as well as an individual.
“I lost everything. I trusted him because he told me he was a public figure on the radio. I had no doubts, I heard him on the radio every Friday, he told me, ”I’m not going to destroy my name for your money”. I believed it,” said Michael Ferudun Satilmis this morning, who has already lent tens of thousands of dollars to Lirette.
Judge Serge Delisle confirmed the lawyers’ joint suggestion and sentenced Mario Lirette to a two-year prison term.
