Accused in Amir Balaj murder case killed by accomplices: Lahore Police

Lahore Police said on Friday that Ahsan Shah, the accused in the Amir Balaj Tipu murder case, was killed by the firing of his own associates.

Amir Balaj Tipu was shot dead at a wedding ceremony in Lahore’s Chohang area on February 18, blamed on his rival gang leader Tefi Butt and his brother Gogi Butt.

Muzaffar, the hired killer who fired at Amir, was killed on the spot. The police had arrested three accused in the case, including Balaj’s friend Ahsan Shah.

Ahsan was accused of informing the killers about Balaj’s movements in return for money.

The Organized Crime Unit, which is investigating this high-profile case, said in a statement today that the police were taking the accused to the Shadbagh police station area for identification and arrest, when the accused’s brother Ali Raza and his unknown accomplices tried to rescue him. According to the statement, the police personnel remained safe in the firing, while Ahsan’s attackers escaped by taking advantage of the darkness, and a search operation is underway in the area to arrest them.

SP Police Aftab Phalrawan said that the action in this case is going on and all the accused will be arrested soon.

He said that according to the investigation so far, seven people are involved in this murder case, one of them was killed on the spot, the other Ahsan Shah was also killed while Tefi Butt, Gogi Butt and Bilal are absconding.

He further said that red warrants have been obtained to arrest the fugitive accused and Dubai Police has also been contacted.

Amir Balaj Tipu’s family is involved in goods transport business in Lahore. Ameer’s grandfather and father Tipu Turkanwala were also killed in the enmity and Gogi Butt and Tefi Butt were also named in these cases.
