Former Army Chief General Manoj Naravane released a map of China after the map released by China including Indian territories including Arunachal Pradesh in the map. He shared this on his X account saying, ‘Finally someone got the real map of China’.
China released a new map late last month that included Taiwan, the South China Sea, Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin. India had rejected China’s new map that lays claim to Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin and had strongly protested China’s provocative move.

However, China’s explanation was that the new map should not be given any excessive interpretations and that the industrial map released as part of the country’s sovereignty is a regular process that is carried out legally.
ASEAN member states Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines also rejected China’s territorial claims and the new map. China has long claimed that Taiwan is part of the Chinese mainland. But Taiwan has not accepted it. ASEAN countries are pushing for a Code of Conduct (COC) in the South China Sea in view of China’s persistent claims over the region.
On the 8th of last month, General Naravane visited and held talks with former Navy Chief Karambir Singh and former Air Chief Marshal RKS Badauriya in Taipei, Taiwan, which Beijing claims as a breakaway region. However, when the Chinese Foreign Ministry asked for its comment on the visit, Taiwan’s response was that it strongly opposes such visits without directly mentioning India’s name.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated that China strongly opposes all forms of official interaction between Taiwan authorities and countries that have diplomatic relations with China.
