More than four months have passed since the sixth canonical game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise – GTA 6 – got its first trailer and, since then, publisher Rockstar Games has kept silent regarding its next big gaming release.
However, two internet users with a good track record of correcting rumors are betting that the game should arrive sooner than we expect: February 2025 – specifically, on the 18th.
Originally, Rockstar promised GTA 6 for “2025”, with Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier stating that the game will come in the first quarter of next year. The two new pieces of information, although treated as rumors and without any official comment, indicate the said day as the arrival of the game.
Although none of the informants below indicate where their bets come from, both got pertinent information from the December trailer right – via Reddit, “JarlOfRivia” even released the minutes of the video scenes – while “Nuro”, via (formerly “Twitter”) set the date of publication of the material.
It must also be considered that, historically, the Rockstar franchise is continually revised and postponed. Its predecessor, GTA 5, had two delays before actually arriving in September 2013 and, even so, it became one of the best-selling titles in history.
As the rumors do not state anything regarding “February 18, 2025” being a definitive date or just the first “idea” for GTA 6, it may well be the case that the above predictions end up proving wrong in the future.
GTA 6 places players back in the state of “Leonida”, where the well-known beach metropolis of “Vice City” (Rockstar’s fictional version of Miami, Florida) is located. This time set in a more current period, the game stars Lucia, an ex-convict of Latin descent; and her companion, whose name has not yet been revealed.
Judging by the trailer, GTA 6 should bring a satirical tone with several contemporary details, with several scenes being shown in a format similar to Tiktok videos and also “gamified” versions of very famous memes.
Although this has not been officially commented on, it is safe to think that the game will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, with a possible later arrival on PCs.
