Accidental death of a nonagenarian in Wellin: his lifeless body was discovered by walkers

It was our colleagues from the newspaper La Meuse who reported on their website this Sunday the discovery of a lifeless body, Saturday morning, on a country lane behind the Wellin sports hall.

Advised, the prosecution and the police did not consider the death suspicious. This is most likely the result of cardiac arrest. In any case, it is an unexpected death, without the intervention of a third person.

An octogenarian from Tellin who still drove his vehicle

The victim, who was autonomous and was still driving his vehicle, is a resident of the neighboring town of Tellin, Mr. Robert Deveux, born February 25, 1931. He apparently came with his vehicle for a walk yesterday morning on a path that leads to Halma.

The victim’s body was taken care of by the Wauthy funeral center in Rochefort. The victim’s daughter, living in Walloon Brabant, was notified yesterday, as was Benoît Closson, the mayor of Wellin.
