A 19-year-old driver was driving on the Schaffhauserstrasse in the direction of Schaffhausen shortly after midnight on Saturday when he lost control of the car for reasons that are still unclear. As a result, it ran off the road, was catapulted several meters through the air and finally crashed into the wall of a commercial building.
In addition to the driver, two 17-year-old passengers and two 16-year-old passengers were injured. After receiving first aid, they were taken to the hospital with two rescue helicopters and an ambulance.
Police are looking for witnesses
In order to be able to work out the exact course of events of the accident, the police have started an appeal for witnesses. Anyone who can provide information about the accident should contact the Diessenhofen cantonal police station on 058 345 28 00. We are also looking for people who noticed the gray BMW on Friday evening because of the driver’s driving style. (ced)
