The police completely closed the exit of the A54, in the Charleroi direction towards Brussels, because of an accident at the exit of the Yernaux tunnel, in Charleroi.
According to our information, the collision involved a car and a truck. The accident injured two people who were in the car. Ambulances and firefighters on site, a wide security perimeter has been established.
The accident caused major traffic jams on the Basse-Sambre side, the R3, the Marsupilami roundregarding and the Chaussée de Lodelinsart. The A54 exit was reopened around 9:30 a.m.; the traffic, meanwhile, is gradually becoming more fluid.
