The Robert-Sauvé Research Institute in Occupational Health and Safety (IRSST) is committed to providing an online experience accessible to everyone, including people with special needs. The IRSST continually works to improve the accessibility of its website to ensure that it meets the accessibility standards in force in Quebec.

Commitment to Accessibility

The IRSST aspires to create an inclusive online environment that allows everyone to browse, interact and fully benefit from the content of its site.

Compliance with standards

The IRSST strives to respect the accessibility standards established in the directives of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (the “Online Content Accessibility Guidelines”, WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These directives define the accessibility criteria for web content for people with disabilities.

Accessibility measures implemented

Here are some of the measures that the IRSST strives to implement to improve and maintain the accessibility of its website:

Content structure: A clear and consistent content structure is used to facilitate navigation using assistive technologies. Alternate Descriptors: Descriptive alternative texts for images are provided so that blind or visually impaired people can understand the visual content. Contrasts: The IRSST pays particular attention to color contrasts, thus improving the readability of content for people who are visually impaired or have low vision. Keyboard navigation: The site is keyboard navigable, making navigation easier for people who cannot use a mouse. Descriptive links: Descriptive links in the content are intended to be meaningful to help understand the destination of the links. Test and feedback: Accessibility tests are carried out periodically and the IRSST encourages feedback from users in order to constantly improve its website.

If you encounter accessibility difficulties on this website or with one of the IRSST products, do not hesitate to let us know by contacting the Institute communications service.
