The Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) accepted 1,430 of the 2,970 applicants to enter Health Sciences and, of those seeking to study General Medicine, less than two out of 10 remained.
This Tuesday, in front of a notary public, authorities from the highest house of studies in the state announced the results of the admission process to the nine programs that make up the area; In general, the pass of 48 percent of those who took the admission test was confirmed.
However, in the case of General Medicine, those accepted were 18 percent, since the UAZ will receive 222 of the 1,224 applicants. This is the lowest percentage of the options in Health Sciences.
In Nursing Zacatecas, 60 percent of the total will enter, since 281 of 468 were accepted, while in the same program, but in Juan Aldama, 33 applicants remained. For Dental Surgeon it was 44 percent, with 185 of 416, and in Physiotherapy 39 percent, with 74 of 187.
The programs in which all those who took the exam of the National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (Ceneval) will be received are: Chemical Pharmaceutical Biologist (174), Nutrition (169), Biotechnology (25), Chemical Engineering (24 ) and Public Health (5).
“We have not accepted. We want to call them that, the word rejected is completely incorrect because it means exclusion, unsuitable, things that we cannot afford in a public university under any circumstances”, said the rector of the UAZ, Rubén Ibarra Reyes.
He explained that for this reason an “inclusion mechanism” will be implemented for those who did not find a space in their first option. This Friday at 10 in the morning, the University will present the possibilities of admission to the programs in which there is space.
As for those accepted, starting this Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., the results will be published on the institution’s social networks.
