The main incident on election day occurred when two homemade devices exploded in two voting centers on the outskirts of Guatemala City, although no one was injured or killed.
The national electoral authorities preliminarily confirmed that the electoral process progressed normally for much of the day.
The current electoral process has been characterized by the leading role of the Public Ministry (Prosecutor’s Office) which, since July 12, has tried to cancel the Seed Movement and prevent the participation of Arévalo de León.
