Last March, the Ministry of Solidarity, Autonomy and Disabled People launched General states of abuse, in the form of consultations carried out jointly for five months with all stakeholders in the sector – professionals, justice stakeholders, associations and people concerned –, via working groups, institutional referrals and self-supported debates, with the aim of to feed into a future national strategy to combat abuse and to respond to the concerns and expectations of the French. A CREDOC investigation carried out on this occasion indeed highlighted that “ 70% of French people [se disent] worried regarding themselves or their loved ones regarding the risk of abuse, the second highest risk following serious illness. Worry is even higher among those who feel isolated, or who are chronically ill or disabled. »
On the occasion of this vast consultation movement, France Assos Santé was interviewed by the CNS: an inventory of mistreatment by those who experience it was carried out by studying referrals to the legal and social information platform Santé Info Rights, then making it possible to propose an analysis and to draw up recommendations on three levels: micro (at the level of the care/support relationship), meso (at the level of health and medico-social establishments) and macro (at the level level of regional and national regulatory institutions).
