Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship: Strongest Fights for Amateur Categories and Masters Competitions

Yesterday, the fifth day of the competitions of the 15th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship witnessed a group of the strongest fights for the amateur category, with white and blue belts for men and women, representing clubs and academies from around the world.

Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, President of the Emirati and Asian Federations and First Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Chairman of the Championship Organizing Committee, and a number of officials, attended the competitions and participated in crowning the winners.

In terms of results, the lead went to Commando Group Academy, while AFNT Academy came in runner-up, and Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club came in third place.

Today, the tournament will witness the holding of competitions in the Masters category (over 30 years) for those holding blue, purple, brown and black belts, and the competitions will continue tomorrow. The tournament schedule in the coming days includes masters category competitions on the 6th and 7th of November, and professional category bouts on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of November, in addition to the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Award ceremony on the evening of November 11th.

Mohammed Al Dhaheri said in a press statement: “Allocating a full day for amateur competitions consolidates the tournament’s position as an ideal global platform that enhances participation and inclusiveness, and paves the way for various categories to participate in international tournaments, highlight their talents and abilities, and enhance their possibility of entering the professional world.”
