The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, through the Markets and Consumer Services Sector, carried out inspections and audits on 176,908 products in markets and sales outlets across the emirate from the beginning of this year until the end of last September, to verify their compliance with specifications, including 164,91 products during Field inspection visits and 12,817 products via electronic sales platforms.
According to the Council’s Markets and Consumers Sector Performance Index report, the total number of legal measuring tools that were verified in the emirate’s markets reached 23,896 measuring tools, while the number of pre-packaged packages that were verified in factories and markets reached 2,099 products.
The Markets and Consumer Services Sector withdrew 26 products from the emirate’s markets because they did not comply with the required specifications and standards, while 50 products were corrected, including 29,555 commodities.
The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council stressed its keenness to ensure the safety of products traded in the markets by monitoring the products to ensure their conformity with their technical specifications and regulations, as samples are taken and examined in the council’s laboratories.
He added that the Council continuously seeks to develop, improve and sustain its services, by adopting and implementing the best international methodologies and practices, making optimal use of available resources, enhancing the efficiency of its employees, empowering them and providing continuous training for them, in addition to effective and efficient planning for the processes of preparation, implementation, follow-up and measurement of its provided services that will develop and develop industries. local, enhancing its competitiveness and ensuring the safety and rights of consumers.
He pointed out that the results of the performance indicators of the markets and consumers sector that are announced reflect the keenness and commitment to ensuring the achievement of fair trade, as exports and imports of goods are subject to supervision in cooperation between the competent authorities, which enables ensuring the safety of the products and that they are free of materials that may pose a danger to people. Health and safety.
