Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to promote positivity and commitment to safe driving, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, which witnesses the commission of many behaviors that affect traffic safety, according to the reality of annual monitoring carried out by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate.
And she explained in episode (15) of the “Our Country is Amanah” program on Abu Dhabi Radio FM, that it is implementing a traffic campaign to educate drivers, in order to enhance their safety and the safety of road users and avoid committing violations, which result in traffic accidents that may lead to deaths and serious injuries.
Colonel Dr. Eng. Musallam Muhammad Al Junaibi, Acting Director of the Traffic Violations Collection and Follow-up Department, said: Fasting may have physiological and psychological effects on drivers with low blood sugar, which affects attention, focus and vision, pointing out the importance of drivers’ positive reactions, and alertness to what is going on. around them from events while driving the vehicle.
He called on drivers, especially those who wish to take long trips, to take a sufficient amount of rest and sleep the night before they drive the vehicle, and if they feel tired while driving, it is preferable to choose a designated place to stop.
Lt. Col. Jaber Saeedan Al-Mansoori, Head of the Serious Accidents Investigation Department, stated that the Traffic and Patrols Directorate has developed an awareness plan for the month of Ramadan to avoid accidents and violations and with the aim of raising traffic safety, and urging drivers to avoid wrong and annoying behaviors of others such as wrong parking, pointing out the most prominent mistakes are not planning the trip optimally and not taking the premium Enough of the trip, not leaving a sufficient safety distance, and what causes drowsiness in accidents such as crossing a red light and wrong parking of vehicles near mosques during Tarawih prayer times, and leads to disruption of the flow of ambulances and civil defense mechanisms, endangering the lives of others and preventing the responsible authorities from carrying out their duties . Captain Saif Amer Al Shamsi from the Traffic Control Department reviewed the drivers’ mistakes from the field reality of traffic control, pointing to the repetition of (some drivers) increasing speeds to catch up with the breakfast time and the wrong overtaking of vehicles, explaining that these violations are monitored through the patrols operating around the clock and through automatic control. .
