Abu Dhabi Police honors Talabat drivers

Abu Dhabi (Etihad)

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector of Abu Dhabi Police honored the drivers of delivery bikes “Talabat” for their commitment to traffic safety rules and regulations, in conjunction with the International Day of Charity Action, which falls on September 5 annually.
The Directorate held an awareness workshop for “Talabat” cyclists on traffic safety, during which Brigadier General Mohammed Dhahi Al Himiri, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, addressed a motivational speech to the honorees, stressing that the honor comes as an incentive to traffic and positive behaviors that contribute to enhancing road safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
He explained that the Directorate is interested in supporting social responsibility, in increasing the traffic culture among drivers in the public and private sectors, who represent a large percentage of road users, by making use of social media and other means to educate its employees and provide them with traffic awareness programs with innovative methods and interactive activities.
He urged drivers of delivery bikes to adhere to the prescribed speeds and directional signs on different roads, stressing not to be lenient in applying the Traffic and Traffic Law to “reckless” motorists who endanger their lives and the lives of others.
