ABU DHABI, 23rd May, 2023 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Police General Command is participating in the activities of the thirty-second session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2023, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center from May 22 to 28.
Major General Thani Butti Al Shamsi, Director of the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences, confirmed that this cultural and civilizational demonstration that the capital Abu Dhabi witnesses annually is the vision of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul in peace” for the importance of reading through his saying “The book is the vessel of science, civilization, culture, knowledge, literature and the arts, and that nations are not measured by their material wealth alone, but rather by their thought and civilized originality, because the book will remain the basis and source of this originality, and the best investment of money is to invest it in creating generations of educated and intellectuals.”
He said that the exhibition is an important communication platform and a prominent literary platform, in which the poles of the publishing industry meet annually in the United Arab Emirates, the Arab region and the world, pointing to the keenness and interest of the wise leadership and its continuous support for culture and knowledge through its vision of the importance of reading in laying the foundations for civilizational development and the advancement of nations and peoples. The Committee of Writers and Readers participates in the exhibition by introducing visitors to the “With a touch, we all read” initiative. The Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences presents working papers for distinguished leadership members as video clips. The virtual training center displays the Safety Adventures game and its objectives, as well as lectures and workshops on the importance of reading.
The Police Heritage Section of the Protocol and Public Relations Department presents the Al Murabaa Virtual Police Museum project in cooperation with the Virtual Training Center at the Academy. And the stages of development that made Abu Dhabi the safest city in the world, and an introductory video will be shown.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate displays digital traffic awareness and interactive experiences using augmented reality in learning traffic safety rules, and a smart robot that contributes to spreading traffic culture at the exhibition level. A free studio is provided for children, and the Legal Affairs Directorate displays brochures on federal laws and their most important publications in Braille.
The Security Information Department participates in introducing visitors to the exhibition with a safety service to enhance the societal role in maintaining the security and stability of society. The Traffic Points Department participates in the Police Follow-up and Aftercare Department by introducing visitors to the traffic points reduction program that focuses on educating drivers regarding safe driving. The Community Police Department is also represented by all of us. Police and its efforts in instilling the importance of volunteer work.
