ABU DHABI, 23rd April, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has signed a sponsorship agreement with Abu Dhabi Marine to be a silver sponsor for the sixth historic Delma 60-foot sailing race festival, which will be held from April 28 to May 7 on the historic island of Delma.
The agreement was signed by Salem Al-Rumaithi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and Captain Saif Al-Muhairi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Marine at the club’s headquarters, in the presence of Majid Ateeq Al-Muhairi, Director of the Racing Department at the club, and Khalifa Al-Rumaithi, Head of the Heritage Racing Department.
Salem Al-Rumaithi thanked Abu Dhabi Marine, which will play an important role during the historic Dalma Race Festival, and said: “We are pleased with the presence of large vital institutions and sectors in the country to take care of the marine heritage, support its spread and presence always, and consolidate the sport of the ancestors so that it continues its journey through the different generations.”
Captain Saif Al Muhairi confirmed that the presence and support for the historic Dalma Race Festival comes in order to highlight the support of the national maritime heritage, and to enhance the process of heritage marine races to revive the UAE’s maritime heritage.
He added, “We are working with the Maritime Club in order to preserve and spread our authentic maritime heritage, which is an integral part of our identity in the Emirates, and also to show the richness of Emirati maritime traditions, heritage and culture and its diversity.”
