The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi organized a panel discussion entitled: “The Importance of Mental Health” on its platform at the Arab Health Exhibition 2023, where the participants indicated the need to continue shedding light on mental health and the incorrect ideas associated with it. During the session, which was moderated by Fatima Al Mahmoud, a journalist for The National newspaper, Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Healthcare Facilities Sector at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, stated: “The Department is making every possible effort to provide solutions in the mental health file, as we work side by side with all Entities in the health care system in its comprehensive concept, starting with increasing community awareness in schools and universities, enabling facilities to provide better psychological care, and honing the skills of the workforce in the sector, especially in primary and specialized health care, leading to rehabilitation and integration into society. She added, “Today, all parties are uniting more than ever before to provide the best solutions in the field of mental health, and we have a plan that is being developed to reflect these tireless efforts.” For her part, Omniyat Al-Hajri, Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health, said: “Our role at the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health is to ensure that we work with all stakeholders in the health care system; Because we are well aware that we cannot succeed without our collaborative efforts, starting from nurseries to universities, we want to teach the basics of mental health to future generations, to raise awareness of society and educate teachers and specialists in the field of mental health.
Bahraini Minister of Health visits the exhibition
Her Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad, Bahraini Minister of Health, visited the Arab Health Exhibition (Arab Health 2023), yesterday noon, and was briefed on the UAE’s experience in the health field. Her Excellency listened to an explanation of the projects of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Health Authority, within a unified national platform, the common and integrated vision of the health sector in the UAE, and the importance of its role in future strategies within the vision of “We Are the Emirates 2031”, which represents a new stage towards the future. More achievement and within one work system to continue the path of successes.
