Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announces new members for the Higher Committee for the Treasure of the Generation Award in its second session

ABU DHABI, 19th April, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi announced that a group of distinguished intellectual, literary and academic figures have joined the Higher Committee for the Treasure of the Generation Award in its second session, which aims to celebrate the Nabataean poetic works concerned with the heritage related to this. The committee, which includes in its membership five specialists with competence, experience and culture in the fields of the award, undertakes general supervision of the work of the award and drawing up its general policy in a way that achieves its goals and objectives, and conducting its affairs, in addition to the decision of the award.

The Committee had held its first meeting virtually, to discuss developments in the award in its second session and the role and tasks of the Supreme Committee. The new members of the Scientific Committee are the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ali Saeed Al Kaabi from the UAE, Chancellor at the United Arab Emirates University and Professor of Education Policy and Comparative Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Aisha Al Shamsi, Emirati academic, critic and poet, and Hassan Zaki from Egypt, composer, visual artist and researcher. Dr. Ali Saeed Al Kaabi held the position of Secretary General of the UAE University. He also held the position of General Coordinator of the UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Rewarding Distinguished Practices and Efforts to Improve Teachers’ Performance from 2009 to 2015, and was a member of the Advisory Council for the Arabic Language, the National Committee for Culture and Education, and the Government Council “Knowledge for All” of the United Nations Educational Organization.
