Managers from Brazilian port companies and ports are in Valencia, Spain, to participate in the training course in Port Strategy and Management, organized by the Brazilian Association of Port Terminals (ABTP) in partnership with Fundación Valenciaport.
The course aims to provide professionals in the sector with the opportunity to experience the port reality in Spain, promote the expansion of theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as training them in port management in that European port.
The international mission organized by ABTP will grant participants the International Certification in Port Strategy and Management by Fundación Valenciaport. The Spanish foundation provides training in various areas of the port segment, including innovation and management applied to port logistics. The Brazilian group has executives from ABTP member companies: Cargill, Ipiranga Norsk Hydro, Rio Brasil Terminal, Santos Brasil, TESC – Santa Catarina Port Terminal, Vale and Wilson Sons, as well as representatives from port authorities.
According to ABTP’s Executive Director, Cláudia Borges, who is part of the international mission, this initiative reinforces the Association’s determination to promote excellence in the port area. “This mission is extremely enriching for ABTP and the Brazilian port sector. These are days of great learning with our European partners and we look forward to applying these lessons in our ports,” she says.
The delegation will also have the opportunity to carry out technical visits to renowned ports in Spain, such as the port of Valencia and the port of Sagunto. “These visits allow for a deeper understanding of advanced port operations and the application of cutting-edge technologies. These are meetings that provide opportunities to discuss development strategies, efficient port management and sustainability measures”, highlights Cláudia.
