Low-income residents will receive a basket of nine different types of food in October. It will include canned green peas, organic sugar, sweetened condensed milk, pasta, whole wheat flour, instant oatmeal, canned pork, canned chicken, canned beets in apple juice.
According to the announcement, all support packages are pre-packaged and ready to go, so people don’t need to bring personal bags.
Distribution of support is organized by the municipal administration, charity and support fund “Maisto bankas” and the Lithuanian Red Cross Society.
Suppliers will deliver food products to municipalities on October 2-12.
Residents whose average monthly income per family member currently does not exceed 235.5 euros per month can receive food products.
In the case of objective reasons, support may be granted in accordance with the procedure established by the municipal administration even when the income exceeds the specified amount per month. Exceptions and the amounts applicable to them are determined by each municipality individually.
Support for needy residents will also be distributed in December this year.
Together with the distribution of food products in December, residents will also receive support with hygiene products.
