It is planned to transport 170 people from Monday to Tuesday on a Romanian airline plane hired by the company.
“The time is already confirmed at 20 minutes after midnight. the plane leaves from Tel Aviv to Bucharest. There he gets on another plane and flies to Vilnius. 8:30 a.m. is allowed,” Vilma Vaitiekūnaitė, head of Skyllence, told BNS on Monday.
“Whether we have more flights will depend on how many more people want to leave Israel and whether there will be a need to organize another flight,” she added.
Monday at 10 a.m. according to data, about 100 people who cannot leave Israel have already registered for a flight. Among them is a group of 40 pilgrims who settled in Bethlehem.
“Have you been on vacation, have you received medical treatment in Israel, or are you living there, whose home is between Lithuania and Israel, are there minor children who are returning unaccompanied by adults, because one parent is in Lithuania and the other is in Israel, but they cannot leave the country, because their duties are such that in war conditions, you have to stay there to work”, said V. Vaitiekūnaitė, describing people who want to return from Israel.
According to her, those stuck in Israel will be flown by a Romanian airline. It has 168 seats.
V. Vaitiekūnaitė said that she has inquiries from foreigners as well.
He missed the state’s concern for its citizens
Jiezno’s priest Rolandas Bičkauskas, who purchased a pilgrimage to Israel from the “Travel with an Idea” agency, was supposed to return home on Sunday, but the plans were changed by Hamas attacks.
The group of forty people he is in spent a week in Israel. The travelers had already gone to the airport, but did not catch the “Wizzair” plane from Vilnius. Since he could not find a place to stay in Tel Aviv, he chose a hotel in Bethlehem.
Klebonas says that the travel agency that brought them takes care of the travelers – they paid for the rooms and meals, and looked for ways to bring them back to Lithuania. At that time, according to R. Bičkauskas, the state cares much less about its citizens.
“We would like them to take more care of their people. There are strings of it. Now we are left with “somehow”, the priest told BNS.
“This is the situation now and other countries are taking the initiative when they solve problems in the person of the Government or presidents. The Poles, with whom we are in the hotel, said that the decision was made to take them out, they are sending planes, even military ones, to take out their citizens. The Romanians are sending planes to get them out. Other countries find the desire and opportunities”, said R. Bičkauskas.
According to him, even Ukraine, where the war is going on, is looking for ways to get its citizens from Israel.
“The situation here is that we cannot solve the problem ourselves, because the planes do not take off very well, and if they do, they are all blocked. There are many people who are stuck. It is impossible to leave on your own. Getting tickets for 41 people on one plane is extraordinary,” said R. Bičkauskas.
He emphasized that the majority of the group are elderly people and it is “impossible to let them go” one by one.
“Most of the seniors, he said, go to Europe a few at a time… imagine putting two or three pensioners on a plane, how to orient themselves,” said the pastor.
R. Bičkauskas claimed that he was in contact with an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who offered to take the initiative to leave Israel.
According to V. Vaitiekūnaitė, the flight organized by “Skyllence” will cost one thousand euros per person.
