Aboul Gheit: The Palestinian people are being subjected to a war of extermination everywhere

Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the League, said that the raids, brutal attacks and killings carried out by Israel in the cities of the northern West Bank, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure and the siege of hospitals, represent a dangerous trend aimed at subjugating the Palestinian people, overthrowing the remnants of the signed agreements, and re-annexing the Palestinian territories in implementation of the agenda of the extreme right.

The spokesman added that this trend cannot be separated from the dangerous and completely unacceptable statements made by extremist ministers in Netanyahu’s government regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Rashdi quoted the Secretary-General of the Arab League as saying, “Israel is waging a war of extermination against the Palestinians everywhere, and the Israeli operation in the West Bank has nothing to do with the attacks of October 7. Rather, the goal is to make the lives of the Palestinians impossible on their land, whether in the West Bank or the occupied Gaza Strip, and to practice continuous intimidation through the shedding of blood in implementation of displacement plans and the liquidation of the cause.”

Aboul Gheit stressed that the international community cannot stand idly by in the face of this escalation, which deliberately seeks to push matters in the region to the brink of the abyss, open new fronts, and ignite fires in a way that will drag the situation towards an explosion.

Aboul Gheit stressed that the United States failed to exert appropriate pressure on Israel and submitted to its maneuvers and the procrastination of its leaders and their wasting of time without any real intention to reach an agreement that would end the aggressive war on Gaza and spare the region the danger of comprehensive escalation, holding Washington responsible for the continuation of this escalating Israeli arrogance in the region.

The Secretary-General of the League called on Washington to take a clear position on the recent Israeli military operation carried out by Israeli forces in the West Bank.
